Innovation Park Water

Less than one percent of earth’s water is available for people to drink. Focus has shifted to finding ways to provide safe drinking water. Innovation Park is a year-long project for the 2017-2018 school year. It has three main components: to make desalination, the separation of salt water into fresh water and brine, more efficient, improve safe water storage, and make the desalination process cheaper. This water purification device will combine two chambers, one for boiling and evaporation, and one for condensation to separate the water and brine. The water will be heated with a heated coiled wire, which will be heated by electricity generated by solar panels, until the water turns to vapor, where it will then rise into another chamber to be cooled into a clean source of water, and lastly passed through a carbon filter to filter any additional spontaneous pollution. The water will be tested for salinity before and after the device and bigger dirt particles and pollutants.
